硯の前で、深く息を吸い、墨を取り、静かに、墨を磨ってみましょう。まず、最初に感じるのは、空中に広がる墨の匂い、奈良の松煙の匂いです。

墨、それは最古の画材ですが、その墨がそろそろ心に作用してきます。心を宙に浮かせながら墨を磨り続けていると・・・いつか無心に・・・すると、心地よくなってきて、気持ちが楽になります。そして、手が筆にのび、白い画面には詩的な墨の濃淡の画像が現れます。

白い紙ほど美しいものはありません。それは視覚的に静寂を表す究極の状態といえます。墨黒の滴り、染み込み、線が白い空間を襲うと、そこには、無数の対比が浮遊する新しい世界が創造されます。

　　　　　不均衡の中の均衡、
　　　　　抽象の中の写実、
　　　　　明の中の暗、
　　　　　そして、無の中の全体、

すべてが、墨絵と書の技の中で、完璧な調和を創出するのです。

Raku is the password that opens the door to the enchanted world of sumie and calligraphy. Take a deep breath as you hold the sumi and then start rubbing the stone gently. It is the scent that strikes first and spreads in the air. The scent of the blue pines of Nara. Sumi, the oldest painting medium in history, is just starting to affect your mind. Go on rubbing with your mind suspended in the air ﾉﾉnowhereﾉﾉAnd there, when you start feeling cozy and relaxed, your hand will reach the brush and images of poetic gradations will appear on the white space. There is nothing more graceful than a white paper ---- the ultimate state of visual serenity. To attack the white space with black drops, stains and lines will create a new world, with thousands of contrasts floating in it. The existence within the nonexistence, the balance within the unbalance, the real within the abstract, the dim within the bright, and the whole within the nil. All to create the complete harmony in the art of sumie and calligraphy.

RAKU est le mot magique ouvrant la porte du monde enchante du sumie et de la calligraphie. Inspirez profondement tout en prenant le sumi et commencez a frotter delicatement la pierre. La premiere sensation sera celle du parfum du sumi, le parfum des pins bleus de Nara. Le Sumi, ce plus ancien moyen de peinture de l'Histoire, commence juste a emouvoir votre esprit. Continuez a frotter la pierre, votre esprit suspendu dans les airs... faites le vide... quand vous vous sentirez a l'aise et relaxe, votre main saisira le pinceau et des degrades aux formes poeiques apparaitront sur la surface blanche. Il n'y a rien de plus beau qu'une feuille blanche, etat supreme de la serenite visuelle. Voila que devant ces assauts de gouttes, teintes et lignes noires s'ouvre un nouveau monde aux mille contrastes. L'existance dans l'inexistance, L'equilibre dans le desequilibre, le concret dans l'abstrait, L'ombre dans la lumiere et le tout dans le neant. Cet ensemble cree la parfaite harmonie de l'art du sumie et de la calligraphie.
